"The Road Not Taken"This is a sample lesson I constructed in my career at Michigan State University. The goal of this lesson is for students to understand and identify theme, imagery, and setting in a poem based on textual evidence. The students will be taking their knowledge of theme, imagery, and setting to then construct a cover page or magazine cover based on what they just analyzed from the poem. They will have to cite specific reasons from the poem of why they made the decisions they did.
This lesson could be placed in a unit after argumentative writing because students can rework their ideas of evidence, claim, warrant, and counterarguments to make a cohesive argument. |
